Precisely why I bought that gold tester!!!

started looking at that ring closer thought it might not be gold, just from the color change of the metal.
sure enough the tester tells the story

couple years back i found two gold charms with 14k marks that weren't gold. so not the first time i have found fake jewelry that was being passed off as real.
 
yep but it is a fake

not only is it marked but it has a nice although thin layer of gold on it to make it look real
 
What brand gold tester is that? It looks like it doesn't use the acids am I correct? How much? Is it accurate?
 
Yeah, it woulda fooled me but it wouldn't have got passed the skilled eyes of my Princess. She's absolutely uncanny when it comes to jewellery, must be a woman thing.:laugh:
