Are these similar with the dongle placement?

They look like it. The dongle is now black.

Are they over the ear with full sized cups or on the ear phones?

Ill post a Pic when I get home Tonight Tom..

They sound excellent and NO LAG TIME..

I'm really curious to see if these use the same 2.4G Radio Freq. Chinese technology as Deteknix (and others) use....

I've tried those (with a Tek G2) and it works but is simply not good enough and with enough lag to be a pain,
ie it can't yield separate 'quality' beeps for close items (they're 'smeared') and taking more time to set your eyes to the target location
for pinpointing...
with headphones the G2 is very fast and 'spot on' with target location without having to use a pinpointer....
and picking out a 'gooder' amongst trash is easy (for shallow targets anyway)....

Makro & Dilek, can you comment on what/whose technology you are using?

I know, I know ... many detector users prefer to use a high-quality set of corded headphones, and that's exactly what I prefer on my FORS series and Racer series detectors. I have tried several different wireless headphone systems and was generally let down by the delayed response as well as the more 'muffled' sounding audio response.

According to the US military hearing tests I was given in '82 thru '86 each year for civilian employment at a military base, I was told I am deaf and didn't qualify for full-time employment. The Oregon Worker's Comp disabilities claim settled in 2012 for a fall in 2010 that ruptured my right ear drum and left scar tissue on my ear canal and ear drum and left me with a hearing aid stated I am deaf. For many decades I have been very, very selective in my headphone choice due to impaired hearing and rely on my Pro-Star, 'Hornet' and back-up 'Wasp' headphones.

That said, while I prefer my high-quality corded headphones most of the time, I found the new 2.4 Gig. headphones from Makro to perform better than any other wireless headphone I have used. No lag-time. Clear audio response. Very comfortable and a pleasure to use, especially when I am Coin & Jewelry Hunting with both my Racer 2 and Gold Racer models. Now that Nokta/Makro Detectors has officially announced them, I got a hold of my hunting buddy, 'Oregon Gregg' and let him check them out on my Racer 2 and he was also impressed with their loud, clear audio.

They are light and comfortable and I'll likely use them more often now that our warmer-to-hotter weather season has arrived. I am certain many Racer2/Gold Racer users will find them to be very satisfactory.

I, too, have been less than pleased with my wireless systems due to an annoying lag-time, but these new 2.4 Gig headphone systems are excellent in that regard, A very quick and clear response with NO lag-time for the majority of Coin & Jewelry Hunting I did, and for most of the Relic Hunting time I have put in as well.

I think you would enjoy the performance from these headphones. I used these headphones mainly with my Racer 2 when Coin & Jewelry Hunting tot-lots, private yards, and some modestly trashy sites and they worked fine!

I seem to recall that Makro noted in the past that, unlike the R1 BT wireless setup, this is an in-house design.

If they were smart, they used an analog wireless audio technology as that shouldn't have any lag, and should have clean audio.

Alls i know if Monte and Gregg say they are good and no lag time then i believe them no ifs and or buts. Monte is very picky, selective with everything detecting related. I been trying to talk Gregg into trying the Auvios and tdks for a long time. If Gregg likes em they gotta be good! :clapping: Cant wait to try a pair.

Monte can u post some pics of them please.

The headband is very lightweight and comfortable, and the ear cups sit 'on' the ears but do not 'cover' or 'enshroud' the ears like a White's Pro-Star or Killer B 'Wasp' or 'Hornet' headphones (which I use). The headphones are different than the wireless set offered when the original Racer was introduced, with different ear cups that are canted to better conform to the average ear angle or position on the head. I find them to be very comfortable for a light weight design, and especially so for any wireless headphone I have used.

They will allow better 'breathing' during the hotter weather, like we have already started to climb to, and the audio response is very clear and with ample loudness. I'll most likely use these for the bulk of my urban Coin & Jewelry Hunting the next several months because they have a very pleasant to response and lack any annoying lag time.

Yes, I am very picky about the detectors, coils, headphones, diggers and other detecting equipment I use. While I still prefer my favorite corded headphones for most of my detecting needs, I do find the new 2.4 Gig unit offered by Makro to be a very acceptable choice for working in hotter weather, especially for average Coin Hunting. I have worked with them in a very modestly iron littered site and plan to use them two weeks from today on the Welcome-to-Hunt Outing in Nevada where, as you well know, we have some very nasty iron littered areas to search.

Like any headphones out there, some will appeal to one set of folks and not to another, and I am sure the same will be true with this wireless product. However, with the lack of a lag-time and an audio response that is clear enough with ample loudness, many hobbyists and detectorists are going to enjoy them.

As for any photos, you can see them on the Nokta/Makro website here: http://www.makrodetector.com/searchcoils-accessories-racer-2-metal-detector.html and I am sure they will soon have some photos up. Keith S. might get some photos posted as well. I am just headed out of town and don't have the time to learn my new camera to get some up for you, but you'll see them in just a couple of weeks on the outing.

Thanks for the info Monte. I use the Prostars as well, at the moment they are my favorite headphones.

Well I guess the secret is outta the bag why I treat Monte EXTRA nice LOL  every time Makro/Nokta announces something I get a call from Monte and this time it was wireless headphones. So I drove over to his place and tried out the headphones.

Usually I don't have an interest when it come to headphones, although my hearing isn't as bad as Montes it isn't the best and I have found that the 60 ohm Pro Stars sound and work the best for me. I bought a set of Killer Bees and the 150 ohms were just too tinny/shrilly sounding and for me, hard to hear. So they ended up on E bay.

As for the new wireless headphones for the R2 and Gold Racer. First off the cup is good size and fits over most your ear, they are lite and comfortable , and second they sounded good and they have the ability to be turned up ( loud). They were the first set that I have ever tried that I had to turn them down ( using the R2 on/off volume control button by headphone jack). I run my Pro Stars at max volume setting with the Makro/Nokta machines and 4 clicks from max with a MXT Pro or M6.

So that was nice to know that you can get the volume out of them. Like the ear piece on a smart phone, I would rather have one that I need to turn the volume down a bit then one that doesn't give enough volume and end up being hard to hear in circumstances, if outdoors etc.

Anyhow, we set up some targets and I started sweeping the coil over them, then a little faster and then a little faster etc., to a point I was sweeping the coil much much faster then I ever would in the field. I did not experience any lag time or tone smearing. Got the separation while swinging the coil fast and no lag. They work well. The build quality was good, they did not feel cheap.

So KickNdirt you will be pleased to know that I will be putting a pre-order in for a set.(also Keith has some pics posted at Tom's site) But I'm not entirely ready to cut the cord yet lol I still have my R1 & Fors Core machines that needs Pro Stars and when I'm out in the early cold mornings in the Spring or Fall, I like to tuck my ears in the full size earcups of the Pro Stars. But ya for those of you that really like the wireless route and have a Racer 2 or Gold Racer, I think you will be pleased with these.

Looks like I'll be ordering a set of these! Would be nice to be able to get a set before the end of the month when I do my annual ghost town trip over Memorial Day weekend.... Makro any chance of this happening??

HH,
Brian

Uses USB for charging supplied..

And can also use a wired cord supplied for use on any other machine..

No Lag time very light very comfortable and sound very very good on the Blendy bleedy Audio of the R2..all the nuances are there..

Super easy to set up..just turn on and there linked..thats it.. the volume is controlled by the detector !!

Long runs between charges.. full day not an issue..
