Pre 4th specials.:twodetecting:

One of my hunting buddies and I met at 5:30 and were swinging by 6a. Beautiful morning to be out following a detector around. Mid 60's and low humidity. This is July down here in the south, not April.

Anyway, I was fortunate enough to get my coil over 3 silver coins this morning. 2 Mercury's, a 1919 and 1945. Both came out of a area where something had burned. Lots of charred wood in both holes and other targets in that same stretch. Also, managed a 1901 Barber quarter. Nicely worn, but still spendable. Yeah, right! The 4 wheat cents are 26, 36, 50 and 56.

AT Pro running with the NEL Sharp Shooter coil and running pro zero and no disc.

Everyone have a great and safe 4th. HH jim tn

Great silver Jim!! Really like that patina on the '45 in the last picture, just seems to make the "Winged Liberty" pop!!

JIm that's a lot of silver in single hunt at one location. Way to go! How did your hunting buddy do today at that site and what was he swinging?

Nice finds on the silver, Jim. When I run no discrimination on the At/Pro with the stock coil or 5 X 8, it gets pretty noisy sometimes. but, when I hear the little pip tone, I know the At/Pro has found something good amongst the clutter of trash.

Tab, Chris had 7 wheats and a I H cent when I left. He was going to take a short break and hunt the afternoon away. He was using his new A T Pro with the 5 x 8 coil.

fongu, what kind of noisy? EMI or multi target noisy? Listening for those high tone pips among the trash is why I use no disc. But, keep in mind, I swung a F 75 for several years, so got used to the noisy.

Thanks guys, HH jim tn

wow! What a hunt! From the looks of the clod shots, the dimes were not all that deep...just masked or something? Soil moisture looks about perfect...you better hunt all weekend, this is a rare opportunity in your area in July..

Great hunt, Jim! Happy 4th to you and to all!

I took Muds suggestion on taking advantage of our wonderful digging conditions and slipped out at first light this morning and worked the curbs around one of my spots. Someone had done some digging since all the rain a few days ago, but they didn't get it all. I had a fair amount of trash, some clad and Memorial cents, 4 wheat cents and just under the wire, a 64d Rosie.

Mud, the 2 Mercury dimes were less then 4" deep. The Barber quarter was on edge at about 5 inches.

Thanks all, and good luck if you do any digging. And have a great 4th of July. HH jim tn

Multiple targets noisy, Jim. It's uncanny how the At/Pro can pick out a jewel amongst the trash.

I like to be where I'm going to detect at the break of day in the summer. It seldom happens, but when it does, it's great. Finding targets like these would make it better, tho. The swim area at the park doesn't officially open until 8 am, but I plan to go in by a neighbor's yard who gave me permission and hit the water by 5:45 to 6:00 am at the latest. Taking the mask and snorkel to try and work some areas that haven't been hit yet.

Yeah, I love the early morning hunting. Good luck with your water hunt. That sounds like a blast. HH jim tn

Good silver haul.:clapping:

WOW you made some spectacular finds!
