Pre-1700 Dutch Settlement Find?

There are local rumors that the Dutch had a settlement near my house prior to 1700. I have searched the wooded area where the site is rumored to be for more than three years, with no sign of anything made prior to 1850. I was looking through some of last weeks scraps, when I took a closer look at what I thought was a typical old spoon. It sounded like trash when I found it. I tried to unbend it but it cracked apart, but I noticed it was soft, and appears to be made of lead and tin. I did a google search for lead spoons and I only got hits such as "Archaeometric study of Dutch Tin-Lead spoon fragments from Amsterdam: 1500 -1775 AD." This leads me to believe that the spoon is from the settlement.
Are there any experts who can help ID the spoon fragment? The spoon measures approximately
1 inch wide.

I would watch what you talk about. Archaeological dig. Big brother might be watching. Cool find though. BUT I NEVER HEARD A THING! I KNOW NOTHING!
