The van did start to overheat a few times but we made it home safely. Left about 8 AM and made it home about 10:30 PM - long day.
Here's the motorcycle I picked up for $400 off eBay.

I got a battery and started up the engine (electric start) - she sure sounds sweet. Have some parts on order so I can see how she moves. Needs a lot of TLC to bring her back to her shiny self. Its a 79 Honda CX 500 Custom. Has a shaft drive instead of belt or chain so should last a long time.
I also was blessed to be able to see Al from our detecting club at his shop. Been a long time. Walked out with a new ACE 250 under my arm. I have a wonderful wife!
Took it out for a few trial runs. I am appalled at the number of nails I found on a local beach. They reshingled the roof of the bathrooms and the nails were scattered all over the beach. Picked up as many as I could. Found a few coins. Another beach turned up a small pocket knife, fishing sinker, leader and broken hook, some more change.
Working with my buddy Snoop for a swap. He has a couple GPS units and I have a GTAx 1250. He is in no position to buy a great detector right now and of course I'm in no position to buy a GPS so I think we can make each other happy by swapping. I have the ACE 250 now (and still have the Fisher 1280x) so won't miss the GTAx as much but it sure has been a great friendship - that detector helped me find over 100 rings in the past couple years, not counting all the coins it found. I know Snoop will enjoy using it and knowing it is his will make him even happier.
God is great - all the time - and He does great things.
Thanks for your prayers to see us home safely. Speaking of safely - we witnessed a car/deer accident last night. Lady was alone on her way home. Smashed up the passenger side of her car and busted out the passenger side window. She is ok but shaken. Car was driveable. Can't say much for what was left of the deer. So I mention this to say your prayers certainly helped the other day because we live in deer country - Michigan - expecially 'up here' and your prayers may have kept a similar situation from happening to us. Thanks again.
