Prayer request.... (Long)

MI$$OURI BETTY

New member
My cousin, Virginia, called today and she was crying and very upset! She needed prayer and I prayed for her. It seems that the reports on Aunt Myrtle, when she went home from the hospital after the abcess was lanced, weren't read nor did either of two drs call her and let her know that the abcess is caused from the inside out and not from the outside in as was stated to her, then to me and all of you. Now, fluids are building up in the pocket of the abcess and causing her to be toxic.

Virginia doesn't know what to do, as Aunt Myrtle will be 93 in Oct and doesn't want any more surgery. They are talking about going in and removing a portion of her colon and she may need a colostomy bag. She also has an enlarged heart and may not survive the operation.

I told Virginia that I thought she should not have the surgery and I hope this was good advice for her and Aunt Myrtle because of the circumstances. I prayed also for comfort and peace for Virginia to make the right decision and for God to take Aunt Myrtle quickly and not let her suffer if this is His will! I hope I did the right thing and prayed correctly.....it is so hard to lose your mother no matter what age she is. My mom passed away when she was 72-1/2 years young. Dad was 71 on July 12 and passed away Oct 12 in 1984! I am the age of my father right now, but not as ill as he was with the COPD!

Also, her brother is an epileptic and had 3 seizures, with her taking him to dr 3 times. So the stress of all this is very great on her. She is a very devoted Christian, but needs a lot of prayer for strength to get through all this!

Please pray for Aunt Myrtle and for Virginia and family!

Thank you for your prayers & God Bless!

Betty

You did your best in supporting Virginia. Prayer, as you know can be a powerful thing. Our prayers will be added to yours for them both.

God Bless!

keep in mind Betty that because we are the age that someone we know passed away it makes it hard to think we to could be next. When I was 42 I had a very rought time. My Mom was 42 when she passed away. I'm 55 but for that year it was rough. Maybe not so much thinking I too could die at that young age but because I was the same age I guess she was on my mind all the more and hence being depressed that she was gone.

There are still times when something will trigger a rememberance of her - the song by the Everly Brothers "All I Have To Do Is Dream" is one of those....One of her most loved songs.

Anyway, you still have lots of miles left on your odometer :)

you can count on this crew!

When my quality of life is threatened, and I can't live without a lot of pain, I want to go home. I am assuming of course that the lady is a Christian.

thanks for your encouragement, but my odometer has lots of miles! As dad always said, it's not the age of a person but the mileage they've been through and some of those roads are rough with many trials..Yet, we can praise God, for each one that is overcome has made us what we are in Jesus and more than an overcomer with Him! May the Lord bless you & yours mightily!

God Bless!
