I was able to contact and talk with my Dad and step-mother, Barb, and with my brother Harold and my 3 (half) sisters (same Mom) during this Christmas.
This is the first time in I cannot remember how many years we have talked - on the phone or in person - with each other. (Not a conference call just one on one with everyone on the phone).
I went to see my Dad and step-mother in person. They need prayers. My Dad has gone from 210 pounds down to 140 pounds for not eating properly. My brother said "Dad said when he got hungry he'd just eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich". Guess that was when his wife of 46 year (today BTW is their anniversary) was in the hospital and nursing home. One of my sisters that lives within an hours drive went to see my Dad occassionally. Not much we can do for them but pray. Sherry and I took up a turkey dinner already prepared so we know they have one good meal in them. They need prayer for their financial situation as well - nearly $2,000 in debt just in charges on his gas card from running back and forth to the hospitals and nursing home.
My oldest (well older than the others byt not older than my brother or myself) sister had a car accident some time ago. She has sufferred closed head injury, a broken piece from her neck spinal bones and something about one of her lungs. She is out of work and had to turn down a job for $19 an hour. She may never be able to return to work doing the work she had done before. She still has a desire to setup and operate a home for unwed mothers and start a school for those mothers so they can get an education. Presently she cannot go anywhere. she lost the ability to drive so is pretty much stuck at home.
Asking for prayers for a growing concern. The more people I talk to I am realizing children 14 and under are becoming liars, deceiving their parents, taking short cuts instead of doing what is right the first time, school grades are dropping, they are getting mouthy with their parents and others, some making arrangements to meet strangers in unsafe places, some leaving home without notice to see someone they met on the internet. I am seeing and hearing more of this and these kids are doing it because they want sex. They need our prayers! They are succoming to peer pressure and being ruled by their bodies instead of the mind ruling the body. Their spirits are weak. Let's prayer for the children.
