We are back in the hospital. This morning about 8:30 i called Carol at work and a co-worker answered her phone and said the school called and Brian had fallen and was hurt. She said Carol had just left so I called her cell phone she didn't answer so I immediately went to the school. When I got there he was sitting up holding his left thigh with both principals and several teachers trying to console him. They had wrapped him in blankets to keep him from going into shock. Carol arrived and we decided not to transport him ourselves since it was the femur and we couldn't tell how bad the break was. I called for an ambulance and walked away from the crowd to place the call and when I returned both principals, the teachers and Carol were on their knees around Brian with the principal leading a prayer. This is a public school!! It was a very moving experience.
Brian is scheduled for surgery in the morning. The bone was broken in half but the rod held it in place limiting, somewhat, the pain. He was just walking when the bone snapped and he fell to the ground. In the morning they will remove the rod and replace it with a new larger rod or possibly two rods.
I need to get back to the hospital.
Thanks for your prayers and God bless,
