a nice spiral-back cookbook and Birthday Card today from my cousin in Jefferson City. No, it's not my b'day...just a few months late for 2005 or a few months early for 2006! You see she's usually late but gets it done sooner or later! She really gave me a blessing with the words she wrote about the pic & poem and the poems I sent to her. Sure lifted me up spiritually! THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is the cookbook from Heisinger Lutheran Home Ausiliary where Virginia is a Patient Representative....remember she is 75 and keeps on going like the Enegizer Bunny....as she takes care of her two grandchildren for her youngest daughter while she works! Erik is in school now and Ashley is 4 and a handfull to keep up with!
The recipes in the This & That section are from the surviving first ladies of Missouri! The poem, in opening the book, is Drinking From My Saucer...which I like very much and was sung by Pastor Al when he and Big AL were on KJSL radio station. I'm glad to have the words to it...another blessing! Also there are some recipes by Virginia, her brother Ernie, her two daughters, and her mother, my Aunt Myrtle.
My neighbor, who lives around the corner from me, sent me a pretty thank you card with nice and kind words concerning the pic & poems also and a $25 Dierberg card for buying food, which covers what I paid for gas going to my sister's house and back and around my area a few times!
All I can say God is sure good to me and I am absolutely blessed with good friends and neighbors! The two granddaughters of my neighbor across the street, who shoveled and snowplowed my driveway, sent me two hand made Christmas thank you cards that they drew artisticly and colored with such nice words and they loved the Chocolate Candy I gave to their grandfather who gave it to them! Their favorite candy they said! Mine too, of course!
What a blessing the written words upon all of them have given me! Thank You Lord Jesus...for Your many blessings! Thank you all for reading this long post! I just had to give God the Glory and Praise for all He does for me and for this Forum...you as my brothers & sisters are great!
God Bless!
