Power Line Problems / Need Help

When I first started this park yesterday, my detector was going nuts. Jumping all over the place, even with the coil in the air. I changed batteries, no luck. I saw some power boxes on the ground. I moved away (50'). It helped, but still a little goofy. I went to custom mode, 4 notches on the silver end and it stopped. Do you think it was power lines under the ground? Let me know. I had read about overhead power lines causing problems.

Either way, its a problem. Notching the DISC out was a good idea.

If you think it was electrical interference then reduce the sensitivity all the way down. If the issue is solved then bump the sens up a notch at a time until it acts up then reduce it one notch. Also a sniper will pick up a little less interference so you might have to put one on. Otherwise you may have to hunt elsewhere.

Which park Bro?

I have a park like that. 30' wide and down the center of the park. The kid's play ground is right over top of it. I wonder if that is healthy for the kids.

Couldn't be any worse than sitting in a house that
is nearly totally enclosed in electrical wiring.. :/
The overhead lines are usually very high voltage, and
those lines are known more for possible problems. Any
wiring under ground is probably fairly low voltage, and
probably not a problem. Then you have the ground itself,
shielded those wires to an extent..

Maybe it was a cell tower. When I went to a different location, no problem.
