Potential areas to go detecting in...

I'm a new MD'er, and have found all of 14 cents so far. So I don't know if this will impact MDing at all...but I thought I'd post this here, in case folks who are near these locations would want to know.

That's the link to the Wunderground article on how low rivers and lakes are, and how they'll be cutting the outflow in 2014. In essence, the Colorado river is in serious jeopardy, as are lots of streams and lakes in the area.

Why am I posting this? Because I think that maybe, with the low levels, folks can go MD'ing on the banks, and find goodies! If I were near enough, I'd be doing that for sure.

If this is the wrong sort of thing, please forgive me my newbie-ness...and delete if necessary. But hopefully, this will let some folks get out to new areas, and maybe find things that were unreachable before. And who knows - it might uncover some of those lost ships folklore is rife with. LOL.

I don't think the Colorado River, Lake Mead or Powell allow metal detecting because they are located within National Parks and Recreation areas. (Darn It!)

Oh. I'm so new, I've got SO much to learn.

Maybe one of the downstream offshoots would allow hunting, though...and if the flow is indeed cut, maybe those treasures could be found?

Dunno...less than 1 week into this, and only did my first creek (and a manmade one at that) yesterday...but did get a dime! LOL.

Thanks for letting me know, and being nice about it.

HH!
