Posting Pictures of Junk Metal

New member
Don't get me wrong. I love reading the stories and seeing pictures of finds especially precious metal jewelry and old coins. I find my share of bottlecaps, pulltabs, aluminum foil etc but I usually dispose of it asap at the first trashcan I come too. I am just wondering why many here post pictures of junk finds. Is it to prove you were out detecting, to prove you are doing your part to help clean the environment or do some of you actually save it? Just wondering.

I am probably in possession of some 100lbs of lead, mostly sinkers. So, I do save some junk.

Happy hunting!

I usually throw the junk away ASAP, but feel like I should post that too.
You get a feel how hard folk work to find a gold ring when you see the junk too.
Don't want the newbies to think beaches are lined with gold. Its hard work!
