Hi Mike, Pete's at work so I'll answer...
Our agent, Stacy, yesterday was going to prepare an offer for us to submit via fax (the same agent that sold this house will handle our purchase of the next one) but I wasn't home when she called, and we've been playing phone tag ever since.
The buyers of this house will be having their inspection next Saturday. If all goes well with the inspection and the appraisal, they'll be closing the following week. Then, once we agree on a final price with the seller of the Houghton Lake home, we can close on that one also, and start moving our stuff up there.
So, once this house passes inspection (we're not expecting any surprises...but if we were I guess they wouldn't be called surprises - lol) and the appraisal is ok'd by the buyer's mortgage company, we should be able to close on the next one. The only way we wouldn't buy the one in Houghton Lake would be if, for some reason, the deal on this one falls through. We are praying REALLY hard!
