possible to relic hunt in Florida?

has anyone done it and found stuff? I would think with the sandy soil there would be a fast sink rate and not much old stuff to be found.

Don't look on our club finds table then. Seminole Indian War stuff, Civil war stuff occasionally, antique household stuff like irons and assorted other goodies. I've hit mid 1800's jewelry, musket ball, old bell myself. Most finds are usually deep but not beyond detection. All the soil here is not sandy. Much depends on what part of the state you're in.

Hi Kneedet, Sailorman told you straight for sure, cause I have been seeing and reading of some great relic finds from Florida for years. Do some serious "research" and you will see what Sailorman is saying. . HH, Charlie

Some are surprisingly shallow like 4" others can be down at 10"+. Here's a little story about a very good day:

Wish all the hunting was like that! You have to remember it's a big state and conditions are all over the map for detecting. I know one guy up near the capitol who's pulling military buttons a civil war bullets like crazy. Makes me jealous! Down here in central FL it's a completely different area to hunt.
