Hello,
This is my first time posting on this forum. I purchased this lovely specimen back in the spring at an estate sale. Of course it wasn't labeled with a name or where it may have come from. It measures 4.5" x 3" x 2.5" tapering to the top in an odd shaped pyramid type shape. It weight 4 3/8#. Due to it's weight for the size, it is definitely a lead-based metal. The color is almost aluminum like but one side appears to have a slight tarnishing on it.
When I first brought it home I did a search of silver metals or silver minerals and some of the Skutterudite images that came up looked more like the structure of this piece than anything else did. It definitely is not like any of the galena I have.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
KC
