Will low batteries cause the external speaker to not work???

It worked when I tested it when it arrived, but today it would not work.... The headphones work, but I was getting the low battery signal....

Im charging now, but it will be tomorrow before they are charged.....

I just bought some new batteries and tried it and ext. speaker still not working....I guess its not a big deal, just wondering what could have happened.....

Perhaps the mechanism that shuts off the external speaker when the headphones are plugged in is not working correctly. I tried slowly plugging the headphones in on my GT and there's definitely a point in which the headphones are clicking into when the external speakers shut off. Have you tried unplugging and plugging in the headphones? Maybe a quick shot of contact cleaner inside the headphones jack will do the trick..

More than likely it's the headphone jack causing the problem. When you plug in headphones it disconnects the internal speaker. Like they said, contact cleaner may correct the problem. Personaly I wouldn't worry about it because nobody uses the internal speaker anyway.
