Hi I found this in a north wales field last year only just cleaned it up as it was thick with dirt, and to my surprise it looks gold it's also quite heavy for its size I will weigh it tomorrow and let you know, any ideas on what it is???

did you weigh it? if its a nugget it would probably weigh at least 1/4oz from the looks of it but its hard to tell thickness from the pictures. doesnt look like a natural nugget to me--more like gold thats been melted. have you found out any more about it?

have your local jeweler read it out with gold meter or scratch test....... color looks right especially if it was a quartz rock... but that other part kinda looks like industrial slag..... good luck

Agree with digger. The green patina is out of place.
However if the specimen was not abrasivly cleaned, a copper nugget would not shine like that.
