Well I've had my MXT about a month now and have found about 800 coins! Still can't believe that I have not found a single wheat back, silver coin or even a big fat gold ring yet! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> I did find one indian silver ring and indian silver necklace. Also found some kind of Canadian $2.00 coin mounted in an aluminum mount. O'well I guess my day will come. My new 4X6 coil should be here by this weekend! <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">

Ron,
If you are going to older site you should be able to get some older coins, but you may have to pick up the newer coins in order to find some of the older ones that are deeper. I am sure if you are hitting some parks or school yards that they have been gone over many times by others and what you are getting is the newer coins that have been dropped since other have been over it.
If you want to find some older coins i would be looking for freinds or relitives that live in older houses and see if you can detect their yards. Many have not been detected and if that is the case you have a excellent chance of finding some wheaties and silver. Now gold rings are tought to find and you almost have to dig all trash in order to find some gold rings as most will read as a trash item. I find I dont bother looking for them unless I am in a area with not many pulltabs that could hold gold rings, then I will dig all pullabs and alum foil that is solid sounding.

800 coins in a month - thats good going and by the law of averages you will find the goodies soon! keep going and dont get discouraged - think how long it took to build the pyramids!

How old do you think I am? I was only there the first year and that was only to get the benefits! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

I, like most others, "<STRONG>HATE" </STRONG>digging trash! Just makes me want to rush out and buy a detector that has discrimination circuitry!! Even one that will suck the gold, silver and jewelry right out of the ground for me, brush it off and then stick it in my pocket!!! I know what I'll do, "I'll take my wife along and let her dig for me! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> PS: I hope she doesn't read this! Yep, I remember you. I was the guy with the long pole that hired you <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> My MXT is on the way as we speak. G'luck on the silver finds - they will come. HH, Ron

Oh yeh, I remember you too! Your the guy that closed the sea up before I was finished detecting the sea floor bottom and it ruined my detector! You "owe" me big time! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> Ron

I've had my MXT one month today and counted the money jug this evening. I counted 967 coins totaling $40.73 of pocket change. Time to roll-em-up and cash em in. (After cleaning them of course!) My new 4X6 Shooter coil has'nt come yet, so I guess it will be here on Monday! Ron
