I am sitting here thinking about the Sovereigns that I have owned in the past and what wondrous machines they have been. In 1994, I bought one of the first sovs, and figured it out. It was a major step from the Fisher 1266, Garret 1000 (?) and Bounty Hunter that I had used, and it took a little doing to get used to it. But I will say this- using that machine, I found more, and better, stuff than I had with the previous three. Then one day, in a fit of crazy, I traded it away. Somewhere after that, I bought a Minelab Explorer XS, a machine that I never got friendly with. Traded it off, found a used Sovereign XS and used it happily for some time. Then, of course (You can see where this is going, can't you?) I got rid of it and decided to try an Explorer again, this time a model 2. Good machine, but I have just been ruined with the Sov. I have a sov elite, and I just traded the Explorer 2 for a Sov xs2. The pastures have always seemed greener, and certainly perfection must be around the corner in the next machine, right?
Bottom line to all of this, I have finally figured out that for me, Sovs are where it is at. I knock no one else, and can speak only for myself, but if I ever trade/sell one of these 2 sovs, If I sell/trade these sovs, I will have myself committed to the mental hospital where I work daily. Some of us are a little slow to learn, not 1 trial learners, but I am now home in Sovereign land. Now all I have to do is find somewhere to hunt, and someone to let me hunt on their land. God knows, I love this crazy hobby/sport, and would rather die out there swinging that Sovereign than any other way. Just some wandering thoughts...
