I have exclusive access of a lake/large pond that was built in the 1920s for fishing & possibly swimming. It was a resort/recreation area at that time. It doesnt have a sandy beach.... I imagine that the lakebottom is made up of mud & from the looks of the shoreline the occassional fieldstone. It is only used for fishing anymore & no longer available to the public.
I am wondering if I should take a stab at it or not. I have never water hunted before .... what would be required? Am I right in assuming it would be a serious pain in the Arse digging in lakebottom mud? I can just imagine all the beer cans fishermen have tossed in the lake over the years. Oh I forgot to mention.... there is also a seriously annoyed beaver that lives in this lake.... slaps its tail on the water anytime people are around the lake. Also.... I cannot swim..... never learned. I figure I could wear lifejacket? Am i just asking for trouble thinking about detecting this lake?
