Polish hall marked silver find

My stepson wanted it get out detecting before his next shift at the prison. I decided on a park that shared turf with a former school. I know the easy stuff was sucked out but I had a hunch. The first 2 hours were a bust so I suggested we move to another section and I got 3 deep (6") wheat cents and stated to feel better. Then I got a nice silver like coin hit but the depth seemed a bit shallow for silver coins at this site. I cut and flipped the plug to see this I let out whoop and no sooner than after he came over to see it he pops this big honking sterling ring. It was a relief seeing him get silver because last week he got skunked and I pulled this gold ring I like it when he scores because I want him to stay charged up so we get together detecting. the 43 P nickel was the only silver coin yesterday. Beneath the eagles right claw as viewed there are two small recessed areas with markings and one of them is clearly a head with the number 3. A little searching turned up info as a Polish hallmark for .800 fine silver. At 9.4 grams this is a nice size. So far out of 36 silver coins this year the ATP found 22 of them for me. The little gold signet ring was an ATP find as well.

Great hunt YTcoinshooter, nice to see the big mintmark above the dome. And freshly extracted gold from earth is always smile worthy!!

Great finds Ytcoinshooter....It's always great to find silver and gold. I don't usually go for silver but I seem to hit 3 out of 5 hunts...especially 925 rings. (After I posted A month worth of hunting, Waterdog and I went out and bang the second target was a woman's 925 ring with 3 stones it). I want gold rings LOL. Keep posting your great finds Ytcoinshooter.

Excellent finds! It's always great ending those mini-silver droughts.

That is some serious Silver honkage, Bruce! I like a little Silver with my nickels, too. Smart to have a relative on the 'inside', too-- just in case!
