can anyone please tell me what makes the polar gragh diferent on the spectra v3i,as apposed too the v3?
I never thaught the camel humps were allways acurate on my V3.
Guesse im just wondering what the polar thing doese on the V3i

Neither is the polar graph.Surface stuff can be good with it. I don't use it . I do the 3 bar analize screen in 3 freq. Some time I toggle to it when checking a target and using single Freq. This what I go by,Tones first ,VDI then the bar graph. . Good luck Yazoo

I don't use it but when I was testing it I didn't find it anymore useful than the analysis screen (humps). I could tell the difference between a penny, dime, quarter and nickel but I can tell this without using either. Accuracy gets poorer with depth and it is best for shallow targets 0 - 4" or me.[attachment 171882 2010-08-29_152242.png]

Straight lines are good. Rob

The only thing I find useful on the analysis screen is the sizing graph. Everything else I need to know is on the pinpoint screen after the Audio and Spectragraph info.

It is very good for id'ing coke (an issue for a lot of us in the UK) - it just gives a horizontal line - blue dominant. Never need to dig coke again!! Also good on iron (big loops).

That is real good to know ramases. I have a town I'll be getting back to that is so loaded with coke as to be an issue. Many spots there can be considered virgin territory because of it.

I agree that the polar axis plot is similar to the analyze screen...However, the analyze screen works very well for me on deciding on what is trash and what are good things. I cant always tell the difference between a coin and a ring but mostly can tell what is something that I dont want to dig, namely pulltabs etc. I believe it does matter what kind of ground you are in to be more accurate than others. This is not 100 percent....but 8 times of 10, it certainly works for me. It the best thing about this detector and the only one that does it and thats why I own it.

FWIW I also use Salt Mode where there is a lot of coke as it has a natural tendency to ignore it - I just set the -1 to +5 VDI tone to a low grunt, just to be sure!

hello everyone thank you very much for responding,i am sure i am going too do the upgrade,i just wanted some inputs on that certain feature of the detecter.

They greater stability factor is one of the better factor's ,less EMI another you gotta try it for yourself to appreciate it. Yazoo

It is fact. I'm going into places under power lines and around underground where I had to do more adjusting previously. Gains can go a bit higher too. It's just smoother all the way around.
