what shood i get the sunray X8" or the X5" or the pin pointing probe????? for the Minelab Explorer

but seriously it all depends on the sites you hunt.If your sites you can hunt and find stuff without being overwhelmed with constant nulls from iron trash then get the probe and wait on the smaller coils.Hard to say what best suits you,not being you.
I would suggest to avoid wondering if you made the right choice would be to buy all three.
I do not have any of them and want, and will eventually get,all three and a wot.But till I hit lotto again, the first thing I am going to get is the probe because it really annoys me constantly picking up the detector off of the ground to check to see if the target is in the plug or still in the hole.
I know this probably will not help you any, but from what I have read from all the sunray users is that whichever one you pick you will be happy with the performance and the quality construction. And that none of them would be a bad choice to make.
Hey I should get a free pinpointer for my endorsement <IMG SRC="/forums/images/wink.gif" BORDER=0 ALT=";)">

Not having the probe yet and living without it for the first year, My priority list if I didnt have the others would be SR X8, Probe, SR X5... With the 8 the pinpointing gets easier, and it gets in between the trash almost as well as the 5 while still getting pretty close the depth of the 10 and lighter..just the way I would do it if I had to start over again.. my 10 hasnt been on much since getting he 8.. also depends on where your hunting, since I hunt old trashy iron homesites my ideas might not be the same as yours.. beach hunting you might decide the WOT being a first priority....

LOL you made a wife cry she loves it Look deep within for the answer grasshopper

Thats a tough one but heres how I see it. The main point of a pinpointer is to find targets that are dificult to find. If your a beach hunter than its a luxury because its so easy to dig in the sand that diging a little larger hole is no big deal. If your hunting Parks and houses, digging a little larger hole is a lot harder and may get you kicked off the property.
Beach hunter: 15" WOT / 8" SR / S1 Probe
Land Hunter: S1 Probe / 8" SR / 15" WOT
Land and Beach: S1 Probe / 15" WOT / 8" SR
Nugget: Both the 15" WOT and S1 probe
