General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

So yeah, I was scammed out $450 by the thief plugpopper. Its been two weeks now with no contact. I have found out, after the fact, that 2 years ago he did similar scam on FMDF. He appears to have some items that were for sale on here where he marked as sold but more than likely fictitiously. I did find one here on findmall where he scammed someone else. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?43,2090237,2093671#msg-2093671

So, just so no one else gets scammed. He is supposedly from eastern Pennsylvania. Mahanoy City, Coal Township, Schuylkill county or Lebanon, Lebanon county, PA. He is listed as John Weaver on this site. Also used the name Bradley W. possibly. The link also shows a different name. Maybe someone knows the dirtbag, but its unlikely he has friends, or ones that would admit it. How pathetic is your life that you roam on metal detecting sites for years just to get a few hundred bucks. A real coward hiding behind a computer stealing.

Email he used was detectorsector82@gmail.com, Has an ebay account detectorsector82, now it's allovercreations

Sorry you got caught up in apparent scam! Just checked and Plugpopper has not been active on FMDF in over 2 years. Seems he has moved on to this forum!
 
So, I also got scammed by him on Aug. 7th. I went a little extreme and contacted every member in his family and put him on blast everywhere I could imagine, including his wife. I spoke to his Grandmother, and his great Grandmother on the phone. I spent most of today gathering information on him. Hopefully he contacts you too and makes it right.
 
I would love any info you have on this thief. I also would like to pursue legal action against this person.

LOL yeah he got the job done on that. Plug popper is thoroughly screwed this time. It's never worth it scamming.
 
KARMA at its best :) Apparently plugboy never thought someone that they burned would reach out to their grandma and great-grandma. Super job fbadam54@hotmail.com! Now plugboy needs to man up and pay back goondock or provide the merchandise as promised.
 
Goondock- He gave me a tracking number through USPS this morning and there is a package at the post office so he is mailing me something, I told him you have all the same info I have and if he doesn't contact you today you will be moving forward with pressing charges. So he should be getting in touch with you.
 
i hope that you 2 get your stuff because i hate theives and he should be banned for life on this site again good luck!!!

Wow, no where to run, no where to hide... hope it works out for all parties involved. . If not it looks like there may be a bus load of people heading to Mahanoy city... wonder if that guy that got scammed 2 years ago was compensated yet... ive had many good transactions on here with only one that got a little shady but even that one worked out,package just took 3 weeks to arrive. . If this one works out it will be the 1st time ive ever heard of anyone getting thier stuff after getting the cold shoulder.. good luck..

I sure hope you are right. It appears that he has been pulling this scam for several years and been called out on facebook before. I emailed you and messaged you through facebook. Very nice job on getting the info you did. I joined a couple metal detecting groups in the PA area. I think he shut down his facebook. I did message his wife or girlfriend I believe but not expecting a response. I will be filing a police report on Monday through Mahanoy city police if I don't receive money back via paypal this weekend. Nice job Adam, if nothing else you may have shined a little light on the thieving cockroach.

Hope that it doesnt come to you having to post a police report, i really despise scammers, and often wonder why they do it, you may make $100 here and their which may not be a lot but what its really costing you is your name and your reputation. Which is a lot more valuable than $100.
 
you guys are like columbos of the metal detecting world congrats on bring this guy into the light, a man reaps what he sows.
 
Not to beat a dead horse, but I'm not gonna let this go easily. Filed a police report today with my local police department. They will be contacting Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania police in Schuylkill county.

nor should you, good luck.. havent heard if the other guy whom was sent a tracking number got anything...
