Plugger Shafts

Anyone tried the Plugger straight shaft for the AT Pro yet was thinking about trying one but would like to know if anyone else has and if it made the AT Pro a tad more comfortable to swing with the large coil

I have the pluggers rod for my At-Gold w/the 8.5x11 coil on. I find it balances good , but do find it a little heavy than the stock rod. I use it for fields. And use the AT-Pro w/the 5x8 on the stock rod for trashy spots. Hope this will help. GS

Yep I dont want heavier for sure . Will try another route may have to just make one myself if I can find some light weight luminum or something Thanks

I have one and really like it. It is a little heavier than the stock rod but is better balanced. I had to move the stand for it behind the arm cuff. It kept hitting my leg when mounted as shown in your pic and would pull off in the water. This biggest problem with using it is the coil wire on Garrett coils is almost too short. If you had just one more foot of wire, it would be great. I'm pretty tall so I need the shaft pretty long. Anderson has been threatening to have a shaft for the ATP, but it has never materialized, I think because of the coil wire issue.

Yes I could see this being a problem I am 6 ft 2" so the lendth of the rod assembly is important for balance

I have that set up for water hunting. The stock Garrett shaft and cam locks are prone to problems in the water due to silt and sand. For me, on TURF I prefer the stock shaft while using the 11" coil, the balance seems better suited for me. Plugger's shaft is ideal for me in the water with either coil and ok on land with the small coil.

BarryL, I have MY AT-Pro MOUNTED on PLUGGER's AT-Shaft, and I Personally FEEL, that it is an IMPROVEMENT over the Stock Shaft, but it IS NOT as COMFORTABLE
as his EXCAL Straight Shaft Set-Up with an EXCAL!! Mainly, because the 8 1/2x11 GARRETT COIL is EXTREMELY N-O-S-E HEAVY, and Still CREATES Hand Fatigue!! But, It DEFINITELY has the Superior SHAFT LOCKS instead of the Garrett Camlocks, which I personally HATE!! It also GREATLY IMPROVES the Viewing Angle of the Display Screen!! But, Make SURE YOU order it with the WHITES Armcuff instead of the other Armcuff!! Because, that way, YOU can ADJUST the Armcuff Length for BEST COMFORT!!
Hope this HELP, Les Robinson.

Thanks Les , I think I have decided to just stay with the stock Rod assembly for now and I have a friend who is going to see about building me a Shaft setup so will see what he can come up with .
