plugger rod for my pirate pro?

New member
I used to have one of pluggers straight rods on a minelab and I really liked it but no longer have that unit and was wondering if one of those would work with the pirate pro wader? In particular will the coil fit on the end? I sent an email to plugger since he doesn't make one specifically for that detector but didn't get a response.

Try a contact through his new website, i'm sure he would oblige as Bill is a great guy, can't post it here but do a search on google for rods by plugger and it will come up

I have one on my sov that he made. I like it alot, but need to get another soon as the aluminum pin hole
wears out easily.

They are easily made. I've made 3 for less than the cost of one that you buy from the internet ($74.95 is the cheapest I've seen). Go to your local hardware store or marine store and they either sell it by the foot or the pre-cut length. I went to ACE and it was $13 for 8ft of 7/8 aluminum tubing. I went to a bicycle shop and bought handle bar barends that tighten onto the aluminum pole at whatever position you desire. The only other thing you need is a 1/4 drill bit to drill holes for the lower shaft to lock in place. This should cost you less than $25, maybe a couple of dollars more if you buy some fancy grips or have to pay more than $3 a foot for the aluminum tubing. When I make the next one I will post pics for those that would like to see the process and end product.
