plowed field mode????????

What is the diff beween all metal and the so called plowed field mode. Here where we hunt we never hunt plowed fields, or hardly ever. What else would that mode be for???? thanks in advance

Dave Johnson explains it like this----Process # refers to the way the ID system samples the signal. In the T2 that was interleaved with the selection of tones: in the F75 tones are tones-- process selection is separate. There are three processes: default, bottlecap and PF mode (for "plowed field")

Sounds cool!!

Need some time to get stuff together for later tonight.

Hello Jeff. May I make an educated guess?

Logically thinking, one can anticipate a rapidly changing distance variation of search-head to undulating ground scenario.

This will in turn presents an excessive signal-base line variation due to the plough furrows, when compared to the relatively slower less demanding 'flat' ground.

This would require a more refined filtering of signal or sampling timing, to achieve an acceptable accuracy of target identification.

Hope this explanation offers some insight into the subject...MattR.UK.

That begs the question. Even tho the GB is "fixed" using manual GB or Fast Grab is there some other type of ground monitoring/correction going on? I wondered about that after reading the T2's operating manual when it described Mode 1 as being for "lumpy ground".
Lumpy ground/plowed ground... should have just called it uneven ground and kept it simple.

There are alot of good reports on this mode, & I'm excited about it. I have yet to get it to a field, but there are lots of detectors that suffer greatly in that fluffy fresh plow soil because many modern/newer detectors like a more solid ground matrix. If this "process" feature helps that aspect, PLUS is useful in high grass & woods it sounds very cool to me. Not just one of those "extra" bells & whistles you'll never use ;)
