Plowed Field Again

Larry and I went late Monday morning to meet up with a farmer that Larry got permission to hunt his land, he marked his land on the 1875 county map that Larry has. After we meet the farmer and he marked the map we went to see if we could find about where the old houses were, we got to where we thought one was and walked out in a PLOWED field, where we thought it was, it was not, we were off a couple of hundred yards, we finally found pottery shards, glass etc. We went and got our detectors and stating hunting, lots of signals, all bad...I dug a few trying to make them good signals, am I the only one who does that??. The house was on the 1875 map so we thought there should be some Indians., Could not find any. I finally got one good signal and about 4 inches down was a nice 1850 large cent. That makes 3 large cents in 2 days, I feel really lucky for be able to get them. We both got lots of brass items but only one coin. I am sure we will return. I had the F75 at Sens. 85, Disc.6, Notch 1, Sounds 3 and PF. Thanks for looking.......Lee
