Please say a prayer for Dalton.....

Last Saturday, my wife Tisha noticed that our 3 month old son, Dalton, had a swollen area on the right side of his neck and seemed to be sensitive to her touch. We took Dalton to the emergency room late Saturday, and they did several tests, but the preliminary diagnosis was stumping the doctors. Sunday, we transferred Dalton to Childrens Hospital in Little Rock, where he has been undergoing x-Rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and unbelievable numbers of lab tests. At this point, we are still unsure of what is causing the mass in his neck, but are worried that the news may not be good. Dalton will undergo surgery today for biopsy work on the mass, so hopefully we will know something today.
Dalton is my third son, and the pride and joy of my life. It's hard to imagine ever losing him and all of this really has me and Tisha scared to death. It's something hard for any parent to imagine, much less to experience. My prayer is that none of you ever have to go through this kind of thing in your own lives.
Please say a little prayer for Dalton, as I know from my own faith in God that every bit helps in times like these, no matter what the outcome. We just have to put things in GOD'S hands, and hope for the best.
TIA for your thoughts and prayers, and I'll keep in touch with any news we receive.

Ralph: Don`t give up hope. I went through a simular experience about 7 yrs ago with a 20 yr old son after a car accident. 3 weeks of not knowing if he would make it and if in what condition. Since We are expecting his first child any day, believe me faith will move mountains.
When those doctors bring you doubt or little hope, it gives you specifics to pray about.
Dalton is on my list.

... my thoughts are with you and I'll make sure to put an extra thought or two your way. I'm not much of an official praying man, but in your case, I've been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. My oldest kid was born with a somewhat rare congenital defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, and up until a few years before she was born, HLHS was a death sentence. Even now, all of medical science has no idea how long these kids will live, so we're constantly living under a dark sword that we really try not to think about very much. She underwent three open-hearts before she was 2 (the first was done when she was just a few days old), and during the first one and in the day afterward, she "coded" twice. Not a fun phone call to get waking you up at 3am from the hospital chaplain.
As a parent, my good wishes and hopes for the best are with you if my good wishes and hopes for the best carry any currency up above these days. Other than that, ALWAYS keep in mind no matter what happens that there are some pretty amazing things going on -- and often under the most remote rocks of medicine, and if you absolutely have to if things do take a gloomy turn (sorry to mention it, but if it's a possibility ...), do EVERYTHING you can in your power to turn over every rock possible. That's what I would do, anyway.

I cannot even imagine the worry and stress you both must be suffering. If my prayers help, they are with you all.

We're praying for Dalton and your family Ralph. Having a child in danger and not being able to help is a terrible feeling, you and your wife have our deepest sympathies and best wishes.

Consider it done Ralph. What a rotten bummer. Keep us posted as we'll all be anxious to here how the little guy is doing. Hope it's something simple. Just hang in there.

...and will pray daily for Dalton and you and Tisha. We have been in your situation with our son and know the fears and doubts you must be experiencing. Please keep us posted.
May God richly bless you and your family,
Doug
