I have used the ATX with great results and overall, love the machine. It has well and truly paid for itself! A few weeks ago I picked up a brand new condition sea hunter mk2 - and gave it a blast yesterday. Even with a poor shaft design (not a straight shaft) was a total pleasure to use! Yes, I probably lost depth by not using the ATX, but my recovery speed was awesome!
I can imagine a simplified housing and standard staft for the ATX...maybe with a salt water setting to calm down the machine a little....that would be a winner for garrett!
That sea hunter is a keeper! An amazing hunt with "old tech". Sometimes simple is best depending on the beach conditions!
