lThis is so much like Randy's and Pete's prayer requests that it lets us know satan is working hard in the world to kill, steal and destroy whomever and whatever he can...but God is greater so therefore I know prayer makes the difference!
Tami called today and she needs to go get the boys from their dad, who they've been with for a year or more. He drinks and does drugs and is gone most of the time, so they've been raising themselves more or less and getting into trouble. Tami called their aunt to go see about them as she had to work and the aunt said she found them both smoking and drunk. Dusty is 14 and Nathan is 11.
They don't want to go be with Tami because of things that have happened in the past. I won't go into the whole situation but she had to work to raise them the best she could and didn't discipline them like they should have been. Now she regrets that she wasn't a stronger and better parent for them, but I told her she cannot change the past....but she can do better now and told her not to be so negative but to think things would be better than she is believing they will be. She said she sure wished she could do that!
Dusty hits when he gets angry and she's afraid he'll hit her and then Troy will jump in the situation and do something to Dusty which will land him (Troy) in jail. He won't live with me and I can't take care of him, as he won't mind and I'm not able healthwise to handle him, but I am willing to take Nathan, who I used to take care of while she worked and before he was school age (I did Dusty too, sometimes). I'm not sure I can handle him now because of the circumstances he has also been under since living with their dad, Randy, but I'm willing to try....it breaks my heart for Tami and the boys. Randy only wanted them to keep from paying child support and doesn't care for anyone but himself.
Sorry this is so long! I just wanted to give you some of what needs to be prayed about. Tami suffers from Fibromyalgia...a very painful muscle disease and deep depression at times. She works cleaning motel rooms which is difficult for her to do. I just pray she doesn't get suicidal like she has been before. Took a lot of love and prayers from me and prayer partners to keep her going...I even paid the dr bills for her for awhile just to keep her seeking help. She can't handle the stress...so keep her, Troy and boys in prayer please and thank you for all your prayers.
Pray that God will help them to draw closer to Him, so He will draw nearer to them. They all need salvation and Jesus to trust and lean on!
