Using the wood grain as a size reference I would guess the ring in the first pic to be approx. 1" by 1.5" Dia.?. Maybe the thumb ring from a pair of hair scissors?

The cap with the holes in it are from a talc/powder bottle. Many people carried these on their person way back when. Running water and nice hot baths were not a daily thing, thus people needed to try to smell clean. It falls under the category of perfume/cologne. I'm by no means the final authority on this subject, so if anybody has anything to add, please by all means do tell.

a "Wind Filter" for an old German style smoking pipe. I have one almost exactly like on my old pipe. There are many different styles and materials.

Good job on the ID, nice photos !!! I love this forum, because there is always somebody who has a better knowledge of things. Do both of those parts belong to a pipe ? Or is it just the cap that belongs ? Thanks Ron

If found near each other, I would say they are both from the same pipe...

HH,
