Please give me opinions of the Tiger Shark vs other water detectors

The Tiger Shark is an awesome machine in FRESH WATER. It has a salt mode, but don't count on it, it looses a LOT of depth when you get into the salt water. As to its abilities in FRESH WATER it is truely amazing as to the small size of items it seems to hit on with ease. It is very well constructed, and easy to use. You didn't tell what conditions you were hunting, if you are going to hunt SALT WATER go with the Excalibur2, you will eventually end up with one anyway... I did, but if you are in FRESH, the Tiger is the way to go, I love mine. HH Joe

I hunt in Freshwater 99.9% of the time, that's why I have the Tigershark. I am amazed at the ability the Tiger has on very small targets in freshwater. It is a gold jewelry killer in freshwater. Nothing seems to get past it. It has paid for itself 2 times over since April of 08. But all this changes drastically in Saltwater for the Tiger. Takes alot of time to balance correctly and not alot of depth when it all said and done in the saltwater and wet sand. It works excellent on dry sand. If I was going to hunt Saltwater and Freshwater equally the Excal 2 would be my pick. I was just recently thinking of getting an Excal to replace the Tiger but after carefully evaluating my type of water hunting, I realized I wouldn't get enough Saltwater hunting in to justify the change. If I hunted only Saltwater a PI machine would be my choice. If Freshwater is your thing like it is mine, then the Tigershark is Top Dog. JMO :detecting:

I use Tesoros on land and love them but I guess I'll give the Excalibur a try for the water.
Thanks Again
