Hello all! I used to hunt with my stepfather growing up at all the parks and fairgrounds and have always been interested in this hobby. I finally decided to go get my own and have purchased the Fisher F-70. My stepfather recommended it. He is currently using the Fisher CZ-3D. We have been having a blast talking about all the things I need and me telling him about the deals I've found. I just found this forum and have been happily surprised at all of the help and advise that is being given to new and old hunters alike. I fell a little better knowing there is a place I can come and ask questions and get some good, experienced answers. My stepfather lives across the country from me so I will be coming here often to seek answers. I hope to get my new F-70 tomorrow or Thursday. Have been reading the manual and am AMPED to try this sucker out! Thanks!

Enjoy! The F70 is a wolf in sheeps clothing. It will drill down into the ground with the big boys, no problem. Don't be afraid to use threshold to simmer it down if things get erratic...it will still ID plenty deep!

Well how cool is this! :clapping:

Welcome to the Forum, and to the amazing quick broom, speed stick, clad grabbing, silver sucking, gold gathering F70! Which coil didja get? headphones? All the brothers here are just waiting to help you get up to speed as fast as possible with your rig!:beers:

Good choice in detectors! Now don't get discouaged going through the learning curve it will be well worth it.
Don't try to run it real hot and all maxed out right at first. That will only make things worse.
I spent the first couple of months with my 70 being very frustrated because I was trying to tech to china and got overwhelmed by all the signals I was getting.
HH Ed in co.

I'm getting my F-70 with the standard 10" coil and the headphones are the Fisher stereo-not the high end ones, but the standard ones. It should be here tomorrow. I got a SMOKIN' HOT deal from Treasure Mountain Detectors in Alabama from Heath Jones. As soon as I get it together I'll be on here! Hopefully posting my first 20 gold coins from my first hunt...lol..:detecting:

Over the years, Ive had or used 30+ detectors.
The only one I have left is an f70...that's what I think of it for my casual style.

Good choice.
