I have owned most every detector made and once I got them adjusted, I hardly ever changed the settings except for maybe the sensitivity. The CS seems like I have to adjust it almost every time I change locations. I am not complaining and I usually just change the sens and threshold. I have never ran Bill's 525 setting until last Sunday and I was a bit aprehensive about the low sens. I did not figure to get any depth, but I was fooled. I found a very small cuff button at 7 inches. Today I went to a fairgrounds that I have pounded with Explorers, a DFX, and two CZ's. I almost always find a silver coin and a couple of wheats. I was findint shallow clads and was just beginnging to think its time to start adjusting the CS. I set the sens to 7 and the threshold to -5 and notched out tabs and foil. In a very short time I found two mercs and one wheat penny. One of the mercs was about 6 inches deep hung up in tree roots. I could touch the coin with my probe, but I had the plug dug real small so I couldn't get my hand in there. When I enlarged the hole, I got my hand in and immediately felt the coin and it was totally straight up and down, wedged in the roots. I got great signal one way and when I turned on the coin and checked it from another angle, the signal stayed, but was weaker. Anyway, I learned a valuable lesson; I won't be sticking to settings that worked at my previous hunting spots. R.L.
