ground balances quicker than any detector I have ever seen one push of the coil to the soil and shes balanced even in 3 bar iron 80 dirt...

Now for the no so good news...and yes I have tried both coils and different disc settings and different ground balance setting from 40 to 90..And the problem is on high conductors quarter and above it will only hit one way sometimes afew times on the first pass it wont hear the quarter.. move up to a 50 cent piece and it gets noticeably worse then a silver dollar is hit and miss for sure?????????

it will hit say 3 4 times then its gone for a pass then its back and it only does it on the quarter's and above...

anyone else seeing this..Wish I had a video camera this would blow your mind if you could see it.. someone else test theirs on high conductors like quarters and up even at different height's( it will do it from 1 inch to 8 inches) do a few sweeps and see if it dosent vanish?

What ID number do you get on the quarter when it does hit ? Curious as to why this weird thing is happening...and how it possibly gets worse as the coin increases in size. Does it do it with only a certain sweep speed or it does not matter and it does it regardless of fast or slow sweeping ?

I know it's made for gold hunting and made to hit hard on the lower conductors ( could be way off on that one )but getting weird results on a quarter at only 1-2 inches does not seem right.

Keep us posted as you continue to mess around with it.

Were you air testing or were the coins on the ground ? If they were on the ground, did you move them to a different spot and test again ? If not, maybe there was a piece of shallow iron under/near the coins.

Just trying to help out.

Why would it do that. Grab something than skip it. It kinda makes no sence to me. Was it with the big coil or the 5 in coil.

I have the Gold Bug with the 5"DD coil and the 11"DD coil and don't have any problems.

5"DD coil: Sensitivity @50, Ground balance @72, discrimination @0 for Quarter #88 ID value-
1/2 Dollar @93 value - $1 Dollar coin @90 value. All within 11"-12" deep. Air test only, for Discrimination mode.
All-metal setting at threshold of @50. With approximately the same results.

11"DD coil: About the same results as above.

Very strange might hit the target fine 5- or 6 sweeps then all of the sudden it's not there? Just on High conductors?

I tried a enfield butt plate it reads like 93 at it wont even hardly hit it? maybe beeps every 3-4 passes then just one way?

Man I always get the lemon's

You got 11-12 inches with the small coil with sensitivity set at 50 for a quarter? And the big coil had about the same results? You've got the hottest machine, and by far the hottest small coil ever made.

This is for bill, So its normal to miss silver coins? Just asking becasue I bought one for gold nuggets and pickers mainly and a toy to take to the park and fart around with. I just thought it was odd to see it do that on the coins. (Clad coins would it do ok?) Well tku any feedback would be appreaceated..Jess
