Played With 17x13 Coil For CTX

Got out today with Jeffs 17x13 Coil. I think I've found a new partner lol... Went to 3 old sites that I've worked over the years. Wanted to take advantage of it and just dig Deep signals. Almost all the digs were 6+ Inches heck the silver dollar was right at 8" next to this steel pipe. Deepest dig was right at 9" That thing was a brute to swing all day I'm sure I'll pay for it tomorrow. Got one heck of a sun burn today as well. Todays finds some wheats, silver dollar, 2 large pennies, 1 half dime, very worn barber quarter, seated dime and 1 lonely Indian. Plus some relics looks like a pewter spoon as well. Also I will have to see if I can date those buttons. They were found a School House #6 in the middle of a bare field. Thanks Jeff for letting me borrow that coil...

If you don’t want some serious arm problems(rotator cuff in particular) get the Pro Swing harness,or at least some kind of support for the machine. It’s not bad if you’re digging stuff every 5 minutes but swinging it for an hour straight...it’s heavy. Looks like it worked pretty well though... That coil is PHENOMENAL. What a hunt,I can’t even imagine all that in a day! Excellent work!!

Ive used that 17 inch coil for over 5 years on one of my favorite sites. I used a light back pack and tied a bungie to the machine and that was all i needed, after a year or so I was used to it and didnt need it as much. The back pack had to come any way due to all the stuff I had to hike with to get there, like drink, lunch ect. I've dug some supper deep stuff with the coil. And I can tell you that you may be surprised that many targets that it hits on will not show up in the right qoadrant of the screen untill you remove the tope 4 or so inches of dirt. If I get a good sound, and the curser hits maybe every 4th swing in the right spot ....THEN I CHECK by digging a bit. I've found lots of good deep stuff with it.

To bad I cant go to that area anymore. that was alot of fun.

WOW, Great finds!
Love my CTX 3030 w 17" coil that I swing in the surf for 5 hrs/day 2x/wk.
Does take some getting used to...
I know many like the depth but I prefer the 17" for the coverage.
Because I swing it in the surf w the 17' coil, I swing very slowly.
I also move very slowly forward by scooting my feet as
not to step on a stingray, again.
But coverage is phenomenal...I'd love to find a real silver dollar...
