Since I'm new to photography Ive been having some fun playing around with the lighting and different ways to photograph my finds.
Tonight I tried something different and I think the results are pretty cool.
I took a white 5 gallon bucket and put the coin on the inside and set it on a 5" dowel to get it up off the bottom, I turned off all the lights in the room and shined 4 300 watt lights through the bucket pointed at a 45 degree angel to the coin. It highlighted all the edges nice and bright.
Ive been trying to get a nice mirror effect off of the silver coins but I don't have a coin in good enough shape to accomplish it. This is the best coin I have and I got pretty close with it but I need a better coin.

If ya cant see the pics let me know ... MSN has been having some problems with the site I run.
I did order a nice proof coin off of ebay so hopefully I can get some better pics with the results I am shooting for.
