Platypus Coil Info

When I received the Platypus coil, I removed the tape, coil cover, and did some work on the bottom of the coil. The coil top shell was sticking up 1/8 to 3/16 beyond the black poured resin. I used a sanding block with 3 5/8 by 5 adhesive backed 80 and 120 sanding paper. After I wet sanded the bottom with 500 grit wet sanding paper for a slick finish. As the pic shows, it is now smooth and level across the bottom. Now it weighs in at 17 oz. To snug up the rod and coil, I removed the Minelab inserts and streched the rubber washers around the inside on the Minelab inserts and positioned them back in the rod. Now, no problem aligning the bolt and it fits nice and tight.
