Hello,
I just had to post this. Five of us went out to hunt an old park this afternoon. Three were brothers plus me and another friend. Me, one of the brothers and the other friend had E-Trac's. One of the other brothers had an SE and the last had an old whites......that would be Jimmy. I don't know the model Jimmy had. You turn it on. It only has one dial that you can set from 1 to 10. No screen, it just beeps. Jimmy says he sets it to 7 because he only wants to find quarters. No job. He needs money for the lottery. Nobody found much, just a couple of wheaties. Just about the time we were going call it quits, Jimmy yells out, "I found a silver ring." I was close to where he found it so I asked to see it. Looked like silver to me, but it was muddy. I had a water bottle with me so I cleaned it up a bit. On the inside of the ring it had a 950 mark on it. I had no clue as to what this mark meant. I did know that if it was silver it should have a 925 mark. He then asks one of his brothers if he would buy the ring for $5.00 and he does. Remember Jimmy needs money for the lottery. So then every one goes home. Later we find out that 950 = platinum, and the ring could be worth over $800. The 2 brothers decided that they would find out how much it was worth and split the $$.
None of us has a scale so don't know how much it weighs......but its heafty.
Any way am posting a couple of pics of it. BTW............I hunted the area where he found that ring over and over. Grrrrrr......lol
