Doesn't the Pt mark on platinum jewelry indicate 95% platinum?
 
Well, it CAN but that is not "the rule". Look at the link below and it explains all.

Rings marked Pt or Plat without numbers made after 2001 should be 950 or 95% pure. That is the FTC standard for the US rings in effect that year. If it is foreign made with some exceptions like British rings al bets are off..
