No matter where i look on bounty hunters web page there is no mention of the platinum, It's like it doe's not exist. It's not on teknetics or on first texas produts. It's not on any other web page except where i ordered it from.which is detectorelec.com. whats up with that are they ashamed of it. just found it a little odd thats all, if any one can answer this anomaly that would be great. thanks ????

Your Right!

I know I seen it on detecting.com site about a year ago, they had them all listed even the one that looked like the Alpha, Delta. (Platinum) and so on I know I saved all the pictures off the site but they are on my older computer which is not in use at the moment or I would post their pictures of each one. I think you may still see some on the Cabelas web site as these were made for them at that time, that's why the different names, how much they differ from the originals I don't know, I remember when the Gold Bug came out at Cabelas before anywhere else. The Fisher ones were not available yet, now I'm not certain of this but the Cabelas Gold Bugs ( Looked similar to Fisher Gold Bug SE ) was different internally between them and the Fisher GB. Now what differences at that time I'm not sure there were lots of reports about them at that time.
So if the Cabelas versions of these Teknetics detectors were different inside if you compared the guts of each one side by side, I couldn't tell you, only 1st Texas could tell you the differences. Cabelas versions also sold cheaper than the Real McCoys Tecknetics version. Also these Cabelas model were only offered one detecting.com web site and at Cabelas as far as I know.
Since 1st Texas redesigned the New detecting.com web site these detectors and many more have disappeared.

Greetings,

It's the same as the Teknetics Gamma machine. The only difference i'm aware of is the Gamma has a mineralization type icon feature that tells you what minerals are in the area.

Enjoy your new machine when it arrives! Larry...

Gamma and Platinum may look almost identical, but they have different guts, different software, and different searchcoil connector.

Although the Platinum is not a Gamma, there is quite a bit of similarity, and the Platinum is a very good machine for its price range.
