Platinum Info

The Platinum really does exist, but for reasons unknown to me our marketing dept. treats it differently from the others. It's in the Cabela's catalog but they offer little information on it. I think the "K company" usually carries it but I just checked their website and found no sign of it. Binged it and came up with only one hit:

http://www.metaldetector.com/bounty-hunter-platinum-metal-detector

I'm not specifically endorsing that particular dealer, just trying to provide an online source of info on the Platinum. The site includes a detailed description of the Platinum as well as a link to the user's manual.

In my opinion the Platinum is the best general purpose metal detector you can buy for $300. Hots just one step below the big guns, and even has a ground balanced all metals mode.

When you ground balance in All metals mode, if you then switch to discriminate mode does the detector hold the ground settings or does it go to a preset fixed ground balance value?
