Yes I had a very similar one Max !
just as I was about to finish a days hunting , and then BANG a real cracker of a signal nearly blew my ears off ! ! One single scoop and Bingo ! it twinkled in the bottom of the scoop amongst the pebbles and shells !. I had noticed one or two onlookers on the edge of the beach so I had to control myself as I slowly palmed away the white gold solitaire with a massive stone, only stopping to catch an admiring reflection of my head lamp in the massive stone ! WOW . I cycled along the prom at great speed back to our apartment and panted " here love get the loop on this baby it could be my personal best " ----------------------------- only to be deflated by her dulcet tones of try again big boy it says 925 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH so I picked up my bottom jaw from off the floor and we went to the pub to drown my sorrows ! ! Maybeeeeeeeeeeeee next time

hey there max if you have found or ever find a high school ring year 1973 it is mine. i lost my ring at va beach in 1975 or 1975 and am still hoping i will get it back one of these days. hope to hear from you or someone in that area that my ring has been found. thanks jag
