platinum air test

I just received my new platinum and quickly did some air test.
There are 6 levels of disc./sensitivity.
With the Max and minimum disc. Setting I was able to air test a quarter and penny at 10.5".
Same result with sensitivity at the 5th setting.
The platinum according to first texas said it has the same circuitry as the gamma but different software. They said it has the same depth as the gamma and omega only with less features.
The platinum also gives mineral level of ground when you do the ground grab.
This detector is highly underrated I'm glad I bought this over the ace 350 and some others.

My main detector is my Sovereign xs and I will be using the platinum in the Parks and high EMI areas.

I looked hard at the Platinum awhile back but ended up going with the Gamma. They are very similar machines. If it handles as well as, or almost as well as the Gamma, you will really like it. A LOT. Since you stated that you will be using it in parks, look into getting the 5 inch DD coil for it. If it has the same plug style at the Gamma, it will plug right in. I had several good hunts with the standard coil, and it works really good... but to get the most performance out of your detector in a trashy area, get the smaller coil. Good hunts became great hunts when I switched coils. Again, if that Platinum handles in the same league at the Gamma, your really gonna have fun man, target separation and recovery speed is off the chart, Enjoy and HH.
