Plate I D Needed...

Howdy--

I dug this "Plate" near an old Texas trail. The inscription on the banner appears to be Republica Mexicana although it's small and with the corrosion I'm not certain. I believe that it is of brass composition and it weighs 41.3 grams. Does anyone know the approximate age and what type of "plate" it is? Thanks!
