........................out on to beaches near Seattle Washington. Not much to find yet, but it was good to get familiar with the machine. I wonder if the Salt Elimination feature should be "on" when detecting the dry sand areas of the beach?? And roughly how should the 1350 be set up to hunt the damp sand when the tides go out. The area is light to medium mineralized. Where sould the sensitivity and disc be set at.....generally speaking. Anyone use the GTP 1350 on Oregon or Washington State beaches, or on any other salt water beaches for that matter? Thanks for your help.

I would begin running the sensitivity at full, then start moving the coil to get a stability reading. Keep backing off on the sensitivity until you are in a more stable setting. Save this setting. next, go to the area of wet or dry sand and do the same procedure. You now have both settings for hunting the beach. The dry sand shouldn't give you too much grief, however, the wet stuff my have some challenges, as do all single frequency detectors.

Same here, dry sand is ok and i can move pretty quick, but on the wet sand is a challenge, just take time and adjust the sensitivity
when needed
Have Fun
