Theres still a bit of good hunting to do
this year but it IS deer season...SO
Ill get in a few hunts this year then
start all over on 1-1-2011

Insead of a new coil for the GTI I decided what I need most is a PLAN..so far Ive just been :detecting: the same areas
hit or miss ..which explains my coin total being down from
last year ...that and the Hot Dry summer ..

Anyway. Ill be doing more research and trying to get
permision to hunt private sites with older homes etc
also Ill be looking for other public areas I may have not
noticed before...
Im also going to keep records which is something I havent done
before That cant hurt it can only help

Im looking forward to the new season but this one isnt over
yet that BIG find is still out there and Im not fussy
as to when i get it !!!!!!!!!!

Just ramblings on a Saturday morning while the laundry spins

:usaflag:Ron, yesterday I went down to the county offices and picked up a plat book for the northern part of our county. They just released an updated version..it was $40 but I feel that it is priceless information. It shows property lines and the name(s) of the owners. Lots of spare time to research now, considering that it's 13 degrees out as I write. It was like flipping a switch, we went from Fall to Frigid in a matter of days. Perfect time to build-up the coin collection and think about where to go next year.

We have about the same here. It was 14 at 7am. Yesterday was probably the last hunt for this year. It was in the low 30's.

I did buy two plat books for local counties last winter but have not used them all that much yet. However have got a lot of ideas for research just by paying attention when driving around.

check out the David Rumsey maps on cd. You can get them for any state and they are old maps that show tons of potential hunting spots like old churches, groves, fairgrounds etc... you can get complete state maps or just the zones you are interested in. The cd I bought has 11 counties included on it and has old maps from county atlas books. The cd's cost around 12.00 shipped and are well worth the money. Just google" david rumsey" to find them.
