Headed out to a favorite watering hole of mine. A lot of people have commented that PI's aren't very good for fresh water, because there is always too much iron and the lack of salt keeps the iron round for a long time. I tend to differ on this opinion, as the iron is usually close to shore mixed in with all the other junk like pull tabs and bottle caps. The coins and jewellery are always out a little further, beyond this area. Sure, I always end up digging more targets and get more junk, however, I also get the good finds too deep or disc-ed out from the other hunters.

Works for me

WTG John,

I agree, Pi detectors work great for fresh water. Less masking enable the Pi user to get targets missed by other detectors, What happens is a VLF even BBS will mask out weaker signals.

I use an Eric Foster GoldQuest for fresh water, And recently went back to using a Garrett Infinium for fresh water...They operate so smooth, Cuts through the iron masking like butter, It's the only way to go for serious water hunters.

Congrats with your recent finds, Always enjoy reading your post :)
