Pioneer 505 Pro question.....Platinum reading

I've had the B.H. Pioneer 505 Pro for several years and I would recommend it..I've found thousands of coins, jewelry and relics with it. It does have excessive beeping (falsing) in certain enviornments but over time, I've learned how tone them down, tweaking the settings so I didn't have the endless frustration. Mostly it's on a beach (mineralization) or the mulched areas in playgrounds where it acts up the most. My question is..how will it respond to Platinum?? Will it ring in higher like silver or grunt in the low range like gold?? We've..my fiance and I have been asked to find a lost Platinum wedding band in a friends yard. It's been in the ground for about 6 yrs... in the heat of a marital spat, the young man flung his ring into the backyard, it's been there ever since. They didn't know anyone with a detector..till now and we hope to reunite him with his lost ring. Yes they are still together, lol, she has forgiven him for losing it. He bought a silver band to replace it but is hoping and praying that soon he'll be able to wear his ring again that his lovely bride slipped on his finger the day they became one. I've found Ster. Silver rings and jewelry and Gold rings and jewelry before so I'm familiar with how they will sound off but I've never found Platinum so I'm at a loss what I'm listening & looking for. The yard is full of everything, it's been around a longggggg time, we've found lots of coins..modern, old, foreign, matchbox cars, a metal..I'm thinking pewter soldier figurine, and your usual ton of junk...lots of junk, lol.

The first couple days I just scanned to get a feel for what was in the ground, seeing what readings I was getting. Then I started digging strong targets in the gold and silver range plus the coin targets, no ring. Being unsure what it would register as, I went back and started digging targets I passed on for various reasons but noted their locations ..so far, still no ring. If anyone has found Platinum jewelry before, could you give me a hint what range it showed as. This is a huge backyard and it will be forever to scan and dig every target, he kinda thought he remembered which direction he flung it, that's where I concentrated but it's still a no-show. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me :cheekkiss: Susie

The two platinum rings I've found were in the low conductivity range, well below a nickel, and both were fairly large rings. The ring at left in the photo is a large girls class ring I returned, the ring on the right is larger than the 10 k boys class ring in the photo for size reference. The meter reading is where the large platinum ring ID'd on my ADS 7 Garrett, barely above the old steel pull off bottle caps, and it ID's as foil on the 12 segment meter on my Treasure Baron.. The girls class ring ID'ed with the meter on "O" in foil. Depending on the size of the ring you're looking for, if it's actually platinum, it will probably be in the low foil range.
